The reopening of borders outside the European Union is becoming clearer. About fifty countries could be accessible this summer.
The French can go on vacation elsewhere than in Europe. According to Jean-Baptiste Lemoyne, Secretary of State for Tourism, the European authorities are working on a list of around fifty countries accessible from July 1. Questioned on Friday June 19 in the Télématin broadcast on France 2 , the Secretary of State to the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs explained that access to international destinations will be “coordinated and progressive” between European countries.
If a first list of authorized countries is expected in the middle of next week, assumptions are rife about international destinations which will be accessible in early July. Among them, two Maghreb countries are favorites. Tunisia thus announced the opening of its external borders on June 27. Tourists will not be subject to a quarantine period upon arrival, but will have to present a negative test of less than 72 hours to enter the country, reports the Tourist Echo .

Another serious candidate for the tourist recovery, Morocco, which has accelerated its gradual deconfinement since June 11, could also be accessible to the French in July. Even if the Moroccan authorities have not yet made an announcement on a possible opening of the borders, the Syndicate of Tour Operational Companies (SETO) now recommends to its members the resumption of departures for destinations whose sanitary conditions allow, “Which should be the case of Tunisia on July 1 and probably Morocco”, indicates its president René-Marc Chikli.
The American continent excluded?
The possibility of traveling to other non-European destinations could however take longer. Jean-Baptiste Lemoyne has indicated that the list of countries that have "mastered the epidemic" and which will soon be accessible will be updated every 15 days. After encouraging the French to stay on the territory for a “blue white red” vacation, the Secretary of State warned of the situation in Latin America where “the virus is circulating very actively, we think of Brazil”. The presence of the epidemic, a criterion used in drawing up this list, could thus make the American continent inaccessible to the French throughout the summer.
