Amazon debuted the Big Style Sale on Monday, a global weeklong fashion event featuring a mix of brands that already sell on the marketplace and brands that are new to Amazon. Fashion has been a challenging area for Amazon and some fashion brands say the e-commerce giant has more work to do to improve in the category.

Amazon is creating The Climate Pledge Fund, which will invest $2 billion worth of venture capital funding in technology advances among multiple industries to mitigate climate change. Amazon wants the fund to help it and other businesses attain net-zero carbon emissions within 20 years, CEO Jeff Bezos said.

Comcast now offers Spotify on Xfinity devices

Comcast is rolling out Spotify across its entire footprint, with X1 and Xfinity Flex subscribers getting it first and plans to expand distribution through an app "in the coming days." The company reported that streaming music has had double-digit increases compared to last year.

Spotify is trialing an interactive In-App Offer ad format that displays "Episode Sponsors" on podcast pages and enables listeners to click and redeem offers instead of having to remember promo codes they hear during content. The format is being tested in the US by Harry's and is described by Spotify's Jay Richman as "one step in a larger innovation path to productize the coupon code."

Twitter marked Juneteenth by displaying real tweets about Black Lives Matter across billboards in eight US cities where protests have experienced high attendance, including Atlanta, Los Angeles and New York. The campaign also ran digitally via the platform's African American employee resource group's Blackbirds Twitter account.

Sheltered consumers embraced mobile and shopping apps in March with a 40% increase in usage compared with the same period in 2019, and engagement rates came close to the 15% mark during the month, according to a study conducted by Liftoff and Adjust. The marketing firms also found the customer acquisition cost for retailers using apps dropped 51% in March compared with the previous year and app install costs reached an annual low of $2.48 during the month.

Jean-Georges Vongerichten's 15 New York City eateries are starting to reopen for outdoor dining with big changes in place, including diners using their smartphones and tabletop QR codes to access the menu, order and pay. All of the restaurants will now offer delivery and he expects to have 75% to 80% of the company's 2,000 employees back at work by fall.
