is was a popular "social news" website in the WordPress ecosystem. Think Reddit for WordPress. What was cool about it was that the top stories always reflected what was going on in the community and the things that people were interested in at the moment. Too bad it had to close down.

The Astra theme is now active on more than 1 million websites; wow! This is a number that no other theme has reached. Congrats to the Astra team, and we wish them even more users in the future! WordCamp Europe 2021 will be held online. This seems like a bit of an early announcement - perhaps too early - but that's what it is. If you've been hoping to meet your fellow WordPress enthusiasts in Porto next year, well, too bad. But the organizers promise to make 2022 the year that WordCamp comes back!

In other stories, WordCamp US 2020 is canceled entirely. There won't be an online edition. As said by the organizers, the event was cancelled due to "online event fatigue for attendees" and "the desire for WordCamp experiences to be traditional WordCamp experiences."

Unsplash launches their official WordPress plugin. Unsplash is a very popular catalog of free images that you can use anywhere. Or, that's what it used to be like. Recent changes to the Unsplash license made the community unhappy, with many users migrating off the platform. Roughly at the same time, Unsplash made their new WordPress plugin public, but it didn't go without its controversy. Even Matt Mullenweg had something to say about the situation.
