EU may ban US travellers when borders reopen

Documents seen by the New York Times reveal people may not be able to travel from the US to the EU when borders reopen on July 1. With the US struggling to contain its coronavirus outbreak, officials fear travellers entering the EU could trigger a new wave of cases.

Brazil nixes WhatsApp payments

A week after Facebook introduced payments to WhatsApp, Brazil's Central Bank has suspended the feature. The bank asked Mastercard and Visa to stop payments through the app so that an "adequate competitive environment" can be preserved.

Amazon wants to move into live TV

Amazon is interested in adding live TV to Prime. The company is reportedly pursuing new deals that would allow it to host live and linear programming rather than just on-demand streaming. Amazon already holds the rights to several sporting events, including select Premier League matches.

Backlash against predictive crime software 

More than 1,000 artificial intelligence experts and academics have spoken out against forthcoming research that claims neural networks can "predict criminality". The experts warn the research includes "unsound scientific premises" and approaches that have been previously debunked.
