JetBlue will add 30 new domestic routes between July and October, as well as resuming more suspended flights and expanding its Mint premium service to flights between Newark, N.J., and California. "As we've seen demand come back, the speed with which it returned surprised us, particularly in leisure markets and particularly in the last three to three and a half weeks," JetBlue's Scott Laurence said.

Architect Ty Osbaugh says bigger airport terminals and other design changes are in-store for airports as a result of the coronavirus pandemic. "Instead of having one massive queue that's a choke point, you could start to spread that load out and in different places throughout the terminal," he says.

Delta resumes flights between US and China

Delta Air Lines will resume twice-weekly service between Seattle and Shanghai-Pudong via Seoul-Incheon following a temporary suspension in February due to the coronavirus pandemic. Once-weekly flights from Seattle and Detroit will also operate starting from July.

Jim Cramer, host of CNBC's "Mad Money," said he thinks the return of business travel hinges on a national mask mandate being put into place and noted that he is reluctant to fly until the requirement is made. "Unless everyone wears masks and there's a unified decision from Washington that everyone must wear a mask, I think ... corporate travel is just not going to come back the way people think," he said.
